The war across former-Stredisveria tore lives apart. The only real choice left for anyone is to pick up those pieces.
A grizzled veteran adopts a mysterious war orphan. The two frightened animals have no choice but to figure out what life looks like in this world.
What kind of life can the teeth and claws of a killer build for itself? What can an animal ground into nothing possibly hope to make sense of in this world? What hope do either of them have of interfacing with each other or anyone or themselves?
Nothing's ever as simple as it seems. There's a surface beneath a surface beneath a surface to everyone and everything. Exhausting. Exhausted.
And yet, they persist. They have no choice.

(there happened to be someone smoking outside my apartment while i played this, it really added to the ambiance. the wondrous comforting scent)
i rly liked being able to see snapshots of aliska and sasha growing up together; a part of me jealously wishes i could've had, and been able to cling to, an adult for safety like that too.
the ending was beautiful, honest. i really loved this story <3
Ehehehee, cigarette smoke is a really nostalgic scent for me too. I'm happy the approach of giving just a few glimpses over time came across well. This was also very much sort of wish fulfilment in that sense of wanting that kind of safety so I'm glad that feeling connected for you. Thank you for playing...

I was absolutely staggered. The intensity and artistry on display was fantastic, and I loved how much all the disturbing/sexual elements existed not just for their own sake but to build on the themes of family, the capacity to do harm, and what we owe to people in our care. This is going to stay with me for a good long while, I think.
